Cathy Has Roots in Midland County

Midland’s own Cathy Guisewite created the “Cathy” character in 1976, and since then the comic strip has grown into one of the most popular continuing features in American newspapers. Guisewite, a University of Michigan graduate, has won an Emmy Award and numerous other accolades for her comic strip and “Cathy” TV specials.
